First Direct Observation of the Dead-Cone Effect

We report the first direct measurement of dead-cone effect at colliders, using iterative jet declustering techniques in pp collisions $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV. The procedure exposes splittings $\rm{D^{0}}$ mesons shower, by iteratively angular ordered C/A tree. splitting history meson initiated is mapped onto Lund Plane, where appropriate cuts can be made to suppress hadronisation effects. reported variable angle with respect axis, which updated after each splitting. Track-based finding, along low transverse momentum reach for charged tracks ALICE detector, allow an accurate reconstruction phase-space expected largest. results are compared those inclusive jets, negligible.
